The Short Term Augmented Response Service (STARS) is a Health and Social Care Partnership within Dumfries and Galloway that has been designing and developing an employer led reablement development programme for their health and social care support workers.  Motivated to share the learning benefits for staff and service users,  STARS has also made contact with Colleges Scotland Development Network (CSDN) and Dumfries College to actively pursue a wider educational partnership.  In 2012 the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) formally accredited the programme as the first National Progression Award (NPA) in Health and Social Care, promoting reablement as a recognised, assured and nationally delivered qualification.
