SERVICE INNOVATION AND IMPROVEMENT – Stirling and Clackmannanshire Councils- Education Shared Services

Stirling Council and Clackmannanshire Council have pioneered a successful shared education service, which is delivering higher attainment levels, effective collaborative working, efficiencies and a streamlined service across the two local authority areas.  The shared service represents a radical new approach and strong and effective partnership working.  It set out with a very clear agenda of raising attainment and has seen positive results.  Attainment levels across both council areas have improved over the past two years.  During planning, Holyrood Magazine stated that ‘behind the scenes, nothing short of a revolution is taking place’.   The service has been up and running for two years now and represents a positive shift in the way in which both councils can deliver effective public services.
