We are always on the look out for new COSLA Excellence Award Assessors to join the team.

Being an assessor is a great opportunity to help long leet the top ten applications in an award category, and to gain valuable experience and insight into the process.

The COSLA Awards are closely aligned to the standards set out by the European Foundation for Quality Management.    These  European standard levels of excellence are very challenging, and COSLA Assessors reflect that standard.

Assessors are recruited from across the local government family, and to join the team you are likely to have several years experience in an improvement or service development role, and preferably with experience in PSIF or EFQM or other quality models, although there are no set criteria as such.

The consistent  feedback from participants is that becoming an assessor has helped ensure that the judging process is guided by experts on the ground, and provides valuable and practical assessment experience.  In addition, being an assessor provides unparalled insight into what makes an excellent award application – learning that you can use to make your own award application as competitive as possible.

If you have the skills and experience to help us long leet the awards, let us know.  We keep a database and would like to hear from you.  Please email awards@cosla.gov.uk
