‘No Offence’, Edinburgh’s strategic partnership to address youth offending has identified an Early and Effective Intervention model of working which aims to reduce the number of children and young people who offend by providing services and interventions at the earliest opportunity. This outcome was recorded as part of Edinburgh’s Single Outcome Agreement. The model aims to provide improved effectiveness and maximum efficiency from existing resources. In the year 2008/09, 78% of children who received services and interventions due to this model did not re-offend. The number of children referred to the Children’s Reporter reduced by 41%.
